What Is The Light Factory? History of The Light Factory Hours & Location FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions

The Light Factory I signed up for a class online, but I didn't get a confirmation. What happened?
We do not send instant email confirmations: we process all registrations in our office and personally send email confirmations about a week before your class starts. All venues, dates, times, and materials for your class are listed on the web. If you are still concerned about your online registration, feel free to contact Linnea Beyer or Charles Thomas.

How can I get access to your darkroom and how much does it cost?
Our darkroom is available only to our members and costs an additional $8 per hour. Staff led darkroom visits are available by appointment only. Instruction by staff members is not available, but we do offer darkroom classes and would be happy to put you in touch with an instructor to arrange one-on-one instruction. Dark room users are expected to be well informed about darkroom processes and policies.

What do I need to bring to work in the darkroom?
Any paper, burning and dodging tools, etc. that you may personally need to make prints. The Light Factory provides chemicals already mixed to working strength. We also provide film developing chemicals and metal reels. For film development, you may bring your own chemicals and/or plastic reels, only be sure to keep them separate from Light Factory chemicals and other equipment.

What do I need to bring to class?
The class descriptions on our website offer a list of materials needed for each class. Please check the description for the class you are interested in taking or registered for.

Is the digital lab available to members?
