Dennis Kiel has been Chief Curator at The Light Factory since 2007.
Dennis lectures frequently across the country, and has served as a member of the North Carolina Arts Council Visual Artist Fellowship Panel and the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Panel. Dennis has also participated in portfolio reviews at Houston FotoFest 2008 and the 2009 Our World Portfolio Review for Photo Alliance, San Francisco.
Kiel received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Ohio University, Athens, OH and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Cincinnati.
Prior to his coming to The Light Factory, he was the Associate Curator of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs at the Cincinnati Art Museum for 24 years. For five years, he taught a class in the history of photography at Northern Kentucky University, Highland Heights, Kentucky. Kiel spent over 20 years as a programmer at a Cincinnati community-owned public radio station, WAIF 88.3 FM.
