Kara Marentette is an up-and-coming Development professional, overseeing fundraising and board engagement at The Light Factory, as well as membership and database management.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Art in Communication Studies and a Graduate Certificate in non-profit management from the University of North Carolina Charlotte. 

In addition to non-profit management and development, Kara has extensive training in marketing, public relations, fundraising, event planning, and graphic design.  Kara brings a wealth of knowledge in strategic planning and practical experience from her work at Charlotte Mecklenburg Library, the McColl Center for Visual Art, Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region, Humane Society of Charlotte, and the Mint Museum of Art.

Kara is an animal lover, and mom to Charlie, a large and loveable mutt.
