Class Description: Some people dream in television. Inspired by long-form stories that appear on broadcast and cable television, many of us envision our own episodic stories told on the little screen. Because of today’s incredible and accessible technologies, we now have the ability to take those stories out of our heads and put them onto the screen (even if the screen happens to fit into the palm of our hand). This course will focus on the fundamentals of crafting a web series by focusing on screenwriting, directing and video production as they pertain specifically to a web series. We will define what makes a good a series; learn how to write a well-structured screenplay; and how to shoot and edit video to tell stories that audiences will want to see.
